This Day That Age...Dec 13th...
This was posted back in '04...but posting it again for those who came in late...namely the hubby-of-person-in-question :)

The birth of one of more unassuming yet passionate, attractive yet very sensible women( no brickbats for this please..) on this world. Swetha Kannan, as she goes by in her profession ( google this and end up with dozens of write-ups by her for her newspaper The BusinesLine), but more often than not Miss Journo to this author, belongs to one of the rare breed of modern youngsters not afraid to take the path not treaded before. Her decision to take up B.A Sociology in M.O.P.Vaishnav and pursue journalism later, despite being one of the brightest students in school all the time in the Sciences and the Math and her determination to follow the dictates of her heart rather than the mores of the society is what really gave the outside world an idea of the "real her".
For long, she'd been the " bright and studious girl with the machcham" to my mom and my perennial sparring partner in my English period duels with her. But those days are all long gone, cos I am real no-hoper now, for , what chance would a "techie" like me, have , against a real flesh and blood journalist... Could go on and on , but with 2 exams in 2 days and a flight to India to be caught 12 hrs after my second exam, time is really at a premium... but not for everything I guess...... not deftly at a premium when it comes to writing about one of my closest friends and one of the few ppl whom I actually look upto and admire and hope to emulate... Carry on doing the good work that u have been doing all this while making a difference to the society and to the many who love you ( list revised since Dec'04: one SIGNIFICANT addition)...
Yet another day goes by, but more importantly, yet another December 13th goes by....

P.S - Does marriage indeed make a difference? Not sure, but being with someone you love definitely does...and one look at her recent photos confirmed it :)
